No License Found

If your get a "No license found" or "No license key attached" message while starting INTERACT, you find a list of possible causes & solutions right here.

License Codes

If you have received a license code, this license is PC-bound. I.e. the software cannot simply be 'moved' to a new computer. Contact us at support@mangold-international.com for assistance

If you receive an error message, the error code in brackets is important to us.

These type of licenses require a stable internet connection during activation and regularly on start-up. If the connections fails due to required Proxy settings in your organizations network, read Store Proxy settings.

Dongle-based License

Check if the license key (dongle) is inserted properly into a working USB port in the computer.

Check whether the USB port is actually working.

Restart your computer (sometimes, e.g. after logging of a user name, the CodeMeter driver gets blocked

Check if the INTERACT version installed matches the license key.

Install the latest version of the CodeMeter Runtime software, which usually improves license communication.

Code Meter License key

Arrow-Right-OrangeUSB port - Power supply of the USB port in use is too low or USB port is broken

Try a(nother) USB port at the back of your computer.

Update/check your USB system drivers.

Install the CodeMeter Runtime kit locally on your PC, if none of the issues below apply, this might repair any broken USB drivers.

Arrow-Right-OrangeUser rights - User rights on USB port level are limited

Try to run the software as an Administrator, if this works, it definitely is a user right issue. Running INTERACT does NOT require Administrator rights, but sometimes the default user rights are restricted too much.
If you are not able to find the exact source, contact WIBU support and call +49-721-93172-15 for details or locate your nearest distributor through http://www.wibu.de/distributoren.php?lang=en to contact them in your own time zone.

Arrow-Right-OrangeLicense Server not found - In case you own one or more network licenses of our product, the USB license key is not locally attached to the user's computer. In this case:

Verify if the computer that serves as your 'license server' is up and running, connected to a network that is accessible by the clients.

Verify the settings on both ends and described in Network License Configuration.

Arrow-Right-OrangeVirus scanner problems - If the 'real' INTERACT exe or one of its vital dll's is missing, INTERACT will not start if you double click the green shortcut icon. In this case your virus scanner might be blocking (or has removed) either INTERACT itself or the *01.ilng file, which is vital for INTERACT.

If you discover any virus alert referring to a Mangold product or its dll's, report this to us immediately! Naming Virus scanner, its exact Version and as well as the exact version of INTERACT.

If you want to make sure that there is really no virus, run the file through the www.virustotal.com screening. This produces a list with all well-known virus scanner solutions and the result of their scan as well as the date of the virus library update that is currently used.

Define exclusions from the virus scan, within the properties of your virus scanner for all *.ilng files, and Mangold related exe files as well as for any other file that might pop up in your alert, for the time being, until the issue has been solved with the virus application.

Arrow-Right-OrangeFire wall - The local Windows fire wall is blocking the communication port

Enter an exception for the "localhost:22350" in the firewall settings.

Arrow-Right-OrangeInvalid license - If you have just installed a newer version of our software on an older stick, the license key information might be outdated and not valid for the currently installed version. This is how you can check the validation:

Open the CM WebAdmin using this address http://localhost:22350/.
(If nothing happens: Start the CodeMeter.exe in the INTERACT program folder (process will start up in the back ground) and try again.)

Switch to tab Content / Licenses.

Check the date behind the INTERACT Service entry.

If this date is in the past, contact our sales team or if you are sure the update was purchased but not yet installed, follow the instructions in Update license key.

Arrow-Right-OrangeAccess Counter problems - On some machines there are hidden applications active that might be judged as an attempt to break the copy protection of our software. So if you were able to start the program after the update, but this now no longer work, this might be causing the license trouble.
To make sure if this is your source of error:

Start the CodeMeter ControlCenter (Windows menu\All apps\Codemeter).

Start INTERACT, leaving the error message open.

Switch to the Events tab to see what is happening. If one of the last entries says something about this ACCESS COUNTER, we know what is wrong.

Copy this Event log into an email to us.

In this case, we need to figure out what application is causing this behavior and we need to reprogram your license stick:

Download and install the latest Mangold SoftwareManager. After reporting the error to us, we can adjust the counter and our SoftwareManager will automatically re-program your stick, IF a valid connection to our license server can be established!

Arrow-Right-OrangeVISTA/IO Error - CM stick is not recognized in the CodeMeter Control Center software when using VISTA,

If none of the above causes apply, and you are running VISTA, it can be caused by an IO error.

Ask for instructions on how to format your stick at support@mangold-international.com.
