Link Sensor Data

WARNING: WINDOWS ONLY! Because DataView is currently not available on macOS.

Once you have imported and successfully synchronized your sensor data into DataView, you can:

oLink one or more DataView files to your observational data in INTERACT.

oLink sensor data files to the corresponding participant of an Eye Tracking study in Mangold Vision Analyzer.

Link to INTERACT data

This ensures that the correct sensor data is automatically loaded while analyzing your multimedia file(s).

Note: If you link more than one DataView files to a single DataSet, multiple instances of DataView are started.

Enter DataView File reference

There are multiple way to insert a reference you your sensor data:

Select the DataSet to which your *.dtlx sensor data file(s) should be linked.

Drag the *.dtlx file(s)from the Windows Explorer into the Transcription field of the selected DataSet.

INTERACT inserts a full link to the file(s) you dragged in, labeled with the keyword File, like this:

DataView: "E:\Documents\Sensor data\MySensorData.dtlx"

Save your INTERACT data file.

Note: Alternatively, you can use the keyword 'DataView:' instead of 'File:'. This allows you to link *.edf and *.bdf files as well, because file references like that are always opened with DataView!

Open Linked DataView data

Once you have linked any *.dtlx files, you no longer need to open them seperately:

Right-click on any of the time values within the DataSet it is linked to.

Select Open linked files from the context menu.

DataView is started as often as required and the linked sensor data is opened automatically.

Link to Mangold Vision

Once you have imported your sensor data and saved it in an *.dtlx file format, you can link this sensor data information to a specific participant from within the Mangold Vision Analyzer:

oOpen the project that belongs to the recorded sensor data in the Mangold Vision Analyzer.

oOpen the folder that contains the required DataView data file.

oDrag the *.dtlx file on top of the name of the participant it belongs to.

The sensor data file is than copied into the MangoldVision Project file.

The next time you play any stimulus for the selected participant, the program Mangold DataView (if installed corectly) is started automatically, playing the recorded sensor data in sync with the eye tracking data.

Further details about the playback of Eye Tracking data can be found in the Mangold Vision documentation.
