Configure VideoSyncPro Studio > Master / Slave Configuration

If the number of simultaneously recorded sourced exceed the capacity of a single recording station, additional recording stations can be configured and controlled by the Master.

Thus, it is possible to set up a master/slave connection between several recording PCs, each with an individual VideoSyncPro Studio license.

Once correctly configured, it is possible to designate one computer as the ‘master’, which can then control the ‘slave’ computers assigned to it with regard to certain tasks.

These tasks are:

oOpening a specific scenario on the slaves – either automatically as soon as a scenario is opened on the master, or by manually activating a script on the master.

oStarting recording on the master automatically starts recording on all slaves, if a scenario was previously opened there.

oStopping recording on the master automatically stops recording on all slaves.

oIf the appropriate recordings are open on the affected computers, playback is controlled from the master.

All computers work independently to distribute the load accordingly during Recording and Playback.

Note: Each computer needs at least one monitor with (build-in) speakers to check the sound.

Keyboard and mouse can be shared via a KVM switch.

Depending on the number of sources, resolution, and sampling rate, it may not be possible to play back all sources on a single computer simultaneously.

This is why master/slave control is also available during playback in VideoSyncPro Studio.

For a proper Master / Slave setup, the configuration of both the Master and the Slave recording stations require some thought, though:

oStructured naming of Scenarios, so VideoSyncPro can find the corresponding recorded sessions on the 'Slaves' when opening a recording on the Master.

oPractical spreading of sources among the different stations (Create useful units with regard to playback and examination)

oPrepare scripts to (automatically) load scenarios on all Slaves from the Master PC.
