Schedule the Start of a Recording

Although VideoSyncPeo Studio 4.x currently does not offer a build-in scheduler for pre-configured tests, it is still possible to schedule the start of a recording with the help of a small external program.

This can be helpful if you do not have an additional operator who is in charge of the recording, or if you want to synchronize that start with external equipment like the Movisens sensors - which cannot receive external triggers.

Download this package: www.videoanalysis.net/installer/videosyncprostudio/VSP-scheduled-start.zip

Unzip the folder, which contains two small files:

oVSP scheduled start.cmd

oVSP_scheduled_start.py

Store the VSP scheduled start.cmd file in a convenient location.

Store the VSP_scheduled_start.py file inside this folder: :\Users\Public\Documents\Mangold VideoSyncPro Studio Data

Prepare VideoSyncPro Studio for the next recording
(Select the scenario, click New Recording and position the cameras corectly)

To schedule the start time of the recoridng:

Double-click the VSP scheduled start.cmd file.

This results in the following terminal window, prompting you for the start time:

VSP_PromptScheduleStart

The required Python installation is part of the VideoSyncPro Studio installer and should thus be available in the path mentioned in this window.

Enter the required start time at the prompt, using the time format HH:MM and Press ENTER to start the count down.

Leave this command prompt window open and position it in a way that indicates to all users that all is prepared, like this:

VSP_PromptScheduleStart-Waiting

The moment the computer clock reaches the scheduled time, the recording in VideoSyncPro Studio is started.

Note: It is also possible to control VideoSyncPro Studio from your custom application through UDP commands.
