Multiple Sensor Data Files

Most often, various types of sensor-data is recorded with the same recording station.
DataView can display multiple values that are available within the same data file in any combination of charts & values.

You can build user defined layouts to display the data to your liking.

If however, you have various, independent sensors, that record only their own signal, you end up with multiple sensor-data files.

In most cases, each of them using a different sampling rate, another time format and maybe even a different decimal separator.

It is possible to merge these separate files (after importing independently) into a singel DataView file, but that is only required if you really need to visualize data from different data files into a single chart.

Note: INTERACT and DataView can handle seperate DataView files simultaneously!

The trick is, that you import each data file separately into DataView, creating multiple *.dtlx files - each with its own set of measured values:

Create synchronized *.dtlx files for each sensor data file, following the applicable import instructions per file.

Note: Concentrate on the synchronization between each specific sensor file an the video only!

Once all sensor data files have been altered and saved as *.dtlx files, you can start with the analysis and playback of all material in sync, with the help of INTERACT:

Link all *.dtlx files to the corresponding DataSet within your INTERACT document
(Drag the *.dtlx file into your INTERACT document to insert the required link automatically or enter DataView: "<MySensorData.dtlx>" into the transcript field of that DataSet and store the DataView file inside the same folder as your INTERACT document).

To open all linked sensor data file in DataView:

Double-click any of the time codes available inside your INTERACT document.

For each separate *.dtlx file, an additional copy (instance) of DataView is started. If you linked your video(s) as well, they will also load.

Note: Displaying one or more videos in combination with multiple sensor data values from different sources, requires a computer with either a very large monitor or at least two monitors, to see all data and videos at once.

Manual Playback of Multiple Sensor Data Files

If you did not yet link your data files to an INTERACT document, you also can run all DataView files simultaneously, manually :

Click Additional - Sensor Data - DataView Btn_ConsolidateEvents.png in the INTERACT menu to start the first instance of this application.

Open the first *.dtlx sensor data file.

Position the chart window to your liking.
