The audio mixer can combine up to 4 audio signals. The strength of each signal can be adjusted separately with C before it is mixed into a single output signal for all videos.

It also provides phantom power to your boundary microphone.

Note: The control knobs each affect the signal of the input and output sockets of the corresponding vertical lane.

Audio-Mixer Connections

A+D

Input socket - Mono signal; A is used for the boundary microphone.
DO NOT USE XLR (A) and Audio Jacks (A) within the same lane simultaneously.

To combine up to 4 microphones to one output signal, use one microphone per lane (use A and D). Mics with audio jack plugs require a separate power supply.

B

Pre-amplifier - Amplifies the input signal from the boundary microphone and should be positioned approximately in the middle (between 12 and 2 o'clock).

C

Input volume - Control the input volume per lane, to level the signal for each microphone separately.

E

Audio output - Depends on your hardware setup:

oIf only a single network cable leads to each camera, just one audio output cable connects the mixer with an Audio Encoder (through which the audio signal is turned into a network signal that is merged with the video signal).

oWhen there is a separate audio cable leading to each camera, you need to use as many output sockets as there are cameras.

F

Phantom power - Provides power to the XLR sockets. For the boundary microphone, this power supply is vital, so make sure it is activated.

G + H

Output volume - For up to two output signals, the volume can be adjusted using the "MAIN MIX" control at the lower right.

If you connect three or more cameras to the mixing console, the output volume is controlled with both the "MAIN MIX" and "CTRL ROOM" controls influence the output volume of your audio; for identical audio volume in all videos, make sure to set those two controls identically.
