Video Preview Issues

White Preview Window

If the preview window stays white, the camera is found, but the image cannot be transferred correctly. Probably causes:

oVideoSyncPro Studio session was started before the camera was fully 'awake'.
Solution: Restart the VideoSyncPro Studio software and always wait until all camera lights have turned to green before you open your furst session.

Black Preview Window

If the preview window stays black, the camera signal cannot be found.

oVerify that all cameras are turned on.

oMake sure all network connections are correctly attached

Try accessing the cameras directly, by entering their IP number into a browser. Enter 'root' as user and 'Mangold' as your password, when asked for credentials.

When running Windows 7 (not supported), make sure this registry key is set correctly:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Medialooks\MFormats\MFPreview\preview.dx11 = false

Blue Preview Window

If the preview windows stays blue, it is most likely a Graphics board or Direct Show related issue.

oUpdate your Nvidia drivers.

oMake sure DirectShow works correctly.

oVerify if this registry key is set to true:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Medialooks\MFormats\MFReader\decoder.nvidia = true

Small Preview of first frame in Replay

When opening a previously recorded session, the first image of all videos is rather small, surrounded by a blue area.

Press Play to see the whole video image.

In case you have only two cameras (or 4 and a heavy graphics board) you may change this initial appearance to a full preview on the first frame as well.

Change this Windows registry key to dx11 for full preview:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Medialooks\MFormats\MFPreview\preview.type = dx11

Change this registry key to dx9 for default preview situation:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Medialooks\MFormats\MFPreview\preview.type = dx9

DX11 increases the total workload for the computer, and may result in larger offsets in the preview during a recording session. Do only activate it if you have only 2 cameras or are sure your system can handle it.
The recording process has a far higher priority as the live preview. This means that even if the live preview seems to be off, the recording itself is probably still in-sync.
