Once a selection of line is made - using one of the methods described in Select Elements - those elements cannot only be dragged to another position in the current document, but also to another INTERACT data-file!
Drag One Element
To move or copy one element, either a single Event, a DataSet or DataGroup including all sub-ordered elements:
▪Click on a line to be moved and, keeping the mouse button pressed, start moving the mouse.
As soon as you have moved the mouse a few millimeters a green solid arrow appears, indicating that this element is now marked.
▪Keep the mouse button pressed and move the mouse to the target position.
▪Release the mouse button, as soon as the mouse pointer on the screen points at the position of your choice.
▪Choose from the now appearing context menu 'Copy elements' or 'Move elements', depending on what you need (or choose 'Cancel' to leave the selected data untouched).
Drag Multiple Elements
To move a group of elements:
▪Select the items to be moved or copied, like described in Select Elements.
To actually move or copy the marked elements:
▪Click on one of the selected lines.
| Move elements - Have you chosen the command Move elements, all selected elements now disappear from their original location and re-appear at their new position. |
| Copy elements - Choosing the command Copy leaves the original data untouched and a copy of this data appears at this new position. |
