Live Observation with Hierarchical Codes

Theoretically, the principle of the Lexical-coding logging method, can also be used during live observation.

But because you cannot pause reality at the end of an Event, the time simply keeps on running; thus entering Codes for whatever just happened, makes you miss whatever happens next.

That is why we developed the Coding Mode: Complex.

It allows you to use hierarchical Codes during a live observation.

The Complex coding mode offers the same flexibility, when it comes to defining your Codes, using Lexical chains and Prefixes.

But it is different in handling:
Instead of entering descriptive Codes after a behavior has ended, you enter all Codes right at the start of each Event, to specify the current state.

This Event is left 'open' until the behavior changes. All Events are logged with duration.

Read Coding Mode: Complex for further details.
