For live observations, you need to use the Mangold Remote Observer that comes with your LogSquare installation.
For those who want to watch or maybe even moderate their tests from a remote computer in a viewing room, our Mangold Remote Observer offers a great view on the screen content of each participant during the test.
Whenever you hook up to a LogSquare Recorder, the available functionalities depend on the setup on the participant PC.
Control
On the Control tab you will find Buttons to Start and Stop a recording.
If you selected a Scenario file with predefined Tasks on the participant PC in the LogSquare Recorder, the Control tab of the Mangold Remote Observer will also hold buttons to Start Task, a field that shows the Task description as well was buttons to label a task as Failed, Aborted or Succeeded.
Log
On the Log tab, the observer is able to enter Comments, send Chat messages to the participant.
If you selected a Scenario file that holds predefined Observer Codes (on the participant PC in the LogSquare Recorder) the Log tab of the Mangold Remote Observer lists the available Codes.
Note: Those logging functions are only available if a recording session is running.
View
When on the LogSquare Recorderscreen sharing is enabled, a separate Remote Viewer window appears automatically - showing the current screen of the connected LogSquare Recorder.

Possible Functionalities in Combination with LogSquare
In combination with the LogSquare Scenario Functionalities a viewing room moderator is able to:
oWatch the screen content of the connected participant computer.
oSee the webcam image of the participant within the screen video.
oListen to user comments and computer audio
oStart and stop the recording session
oEnter markers for later examination
oLog observations with predefined Codes to label activities or behavior
IMPORTANT: You need to activate the streaming option(s) within the Recorder Network settings, on the participant PC, to transfer the screen content!
Licensing
The license information for the Mangold Remote Observer is stored on the LogSquare License key. This means that you will need to Setup a CodeMeter Network License Server, to have access to both the LogSquare Recorder license and the Remote Observer license simultaneously.
Since version 8, LogSquare comes with 1 Remote Observer license.
