Signal

IMPORTANT:        This section is for administrators and lab managers only .

VideoSyncPro Studio (VSP) is the central part of a Mangold Video Lab. It can communicate with third-party equipment and software to simplify synchronization between different sources.

Note: These Signaling-settings are only relevant if you want to control additional third-party hardware and software with your Mangold Recorder or need to integrate any kind of sensor data.

VideoSyncPro can:

oSend keyboard shortcuts to another application that runs on the recording station.

oSend a signal through a USB-switch at the start and the end of a recording.

oSend a binary signal through an LPT-port at the start and the end of a recording.

oSend an UDP signal at the start and the end of a recording.

oReceive key signals to log Marker (instead of clicking icons).

oReceive UDP signals for external control by third-party software (e.g. Mindware), available commands are listed in UDP control.

oReceive signals from any number of Mangold Logsquare workstations the moment a screen recording session starts.

Configure Start/Stop Signals for Recordings

For synchronization purposes it is important to send a 'Video recording started', and a 'Video recording stopped' signal to third-party products.

Only if such a signal is entered into the sensor  recorder data, synchronization between video and sensor data is possible.

Example: You have a device to log sensor data, like biophysical data or the noise level of surrounding noises.
To analyze the recorded videos in-sync with this type of numerical data afterward (using Mangold INTERACT and Mangold DataView), we need to insert a signal or marker into this third-party data stream, the moment the video recording starts.

VideoSyncPro offers multiple ways to send this 'Video recording started' signal. Which method is applicable for you, depends on the additional equipment you use. If you have any questions, please contact our support e-mail: support@mangold-international.com.

Note: All options do have just one goal: Send a START RECORD and a STOP RECORD signal to simplify synchronization of external recorded data with your video recordings.

Click Show trigger settings to open the Send start/stop signal dialog.

Further details are available in the separate topics per signaling type:

oUSB Relay Signal

oLPT Port Signal

oKeyboard Signal

oUDP Signal

It is possible to send multiple signals simultaneously.
